The article deals with the methodological requirements to goal setting of the lessons. There is conducted the analysis of goal setting in the Federal Educational Standard of Primary General Education (2021), the educational programmes of mathematics of different learning and teaching support kit for primary school and the traditional school practice in the goal setting of the lessons. There is revealed the disparity of the goals and the methodological requirements. The author substantiates the process of subject goals setting at the example of the mathematics lessons at primary school.
