Beef cattle breeding in peasant (farm) households of the Vologda region

The possibility of developing specialized beef cattle breeding in peasant (farm) households of the Vologda Region was studied. The experience of beef production in peasant farms was summarized, both by raising and fattening dairy cattle using traditional technology in farms with 100-200 cattle stalls with tie-up and loose housing systems, and specialized beef breeds in simplified premises using the cow-calf system. The role of the Vologda Farmer’s School at the Vologda State Dairy Farming Academy named after N.V. Vereshchagin is shown, which, on behalf of the Governor of the Vologda Region and under the patronage of the Department of Agriculture and Food Resources of the Region, the Budgetary Institution of the Agro-Industrial Complex of the Vologda Region the Vologda Information and Advisory Service Center of the Agro-Industrial Complex and the Vologda Branch of PAO Rossel`khozbank (Public Joint Stock Company), successfully trains novice farmers in the direction of Beef Cattle Breeding. The directions and mechanism of state support for peasant (farm) households within the State Program «Development of Agro-Industrial and Fishery Complexes of the Vologda Region for 2021-2025» based on the grants «Agrostartup» and «Development of a Family Farm» are also shown.
