The article considers a model for assessing general competencies. The presented analysis of research in terms of competencies indicates that there are trends in reorientation from professional competencies to universal general competencies. The assessment of general competencies in the process of training future specialists in the PDF system today causes the greatest difficulty. The article presents an assessment model and describes in detail the structural and content component in terms of creating diagnostic tasks. Diagnostic tasks have been developed taking into account the main types of professional activity being mastered,expert and diagnostic maps have been developed solely for the assessment of general competencies. By checking the validity and reliability of the developed diagnostic tasks, their compliance with the main parameters characterizing the quality of pedagogical measurements is proved.
