В статье рассматривается история становления нефтепоисковых работ в Восточной Сибири во второй половине XIX - начале XX веков. Актуальность исследования обусловлена необходимостью понимания исторических основ развития нефтяной промышленности региона и влияния строительства Сибирской железной дороги на этот процесс. Цель работы - анализ истории становления нефтепоисковых работ и первых попыток промышленной добычи нефти в Восточной Сибири. Методология основана на комплексном использовании классических исторических методов: сравнительно-исторического анализа, архивного анализа документов, хронологического метода и систематизации исторических данных. В результате исследования выявлены основные этапы развития нефтеразведки в регионе, включая первые документальные свидетельства нефтепроявлений, деятельность «столбо-промышленников» и влияние строительства Сибирской железной дороги на интенсификацию поисковых работ. Сделан вывод о том, что первые попытки нефтедобычи в Восточной Сибири выявили необходимость применения комплексного подхода к геологическому изучению месторождений.

The beginning of the era of industrial oil extraction and the development of the petroleum industry in central and eastern siberia
The article examines the history of the establishment of petroleum exploration work in Eastern Siberia in the second half of the 19th - early 20th centuries. The relevance of the study is due to the necessity of understanding the historical foundations for the development of the region’s petroleum industry as well as the impact that the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway had on this process. The aim of the work is to analyze the history of the initiation of petroleum exploration activities and the first attempts at industrial oil extraction in Eastern Siberia. The methodology is based on the comprehensive use of classical historical methods: comparative-historical analysis, archival analysis of documents, the chronological method, and the systematization of historical data. As a result of the study, the main stages of petroleum exploration in the region have been identified, including the earliest documentary evidence of oil manifestations, the activities of the «stolbo-industrialists», and the influence of the construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway on the intensification of exploration work. It is concluded that the first attempts at oil extraction in Eastern Siberia revealed the necessity of employing a comprehensive approach to the geological study of deposits.
