The fundamental ideas of the nuclear approach have been developed and expanded in the research of methodologists from different historical periods. In modern research, the nuclear approach can be considered a general theoretical framework. Although the interpretation of the provisions of nuclear approach of the education phenomena in the 21st century is actively pursued, its application in pedagogy remains limited. Thus, the use of the nuclear approach to study interdisciplinary phenomena, particularly those relating to both education and professional practice, is urgent. Given the rapid changes and insufficient study of the consequences of modern technologies' implementation, along with increased professional risks, the task of developing relevant competencies among specialists becomes relevant. The choice of the nuclear approach is motivated by the need to identify research subjects from the nuclear belt, which undergoes more frequent changes than the core that remains stable within a paradigm and across paradigm sequences. The study aims to specify the framework of the nuclear approach to investigate the interdisciplinary subject of developing risk-management competence in future specialists. The authors formulated specified provisions of the nuclear approach in educational and professional spheres; identified its core and belt within the research object and subject; and characterized the procedures and results of conducting the research based on the nuclear approach.
