The image of Russia in the headlines of the Russian-language American newspaper the New Russian word

The article examines the main characteristics of the representation process of Russia in the American mass media discourse. The research proves that the image of Russia, conceptualized in the headlines of American mass media, tends to be rather single-sided and contains negative information, the purpose of which is to discredit Russia. The strategy of preterition is established to be one of the main features of the analyzed discourse.
