В статье рассматривается влияние языка на формирование демократических тенденций в обществе. Дискурсивные различия правителей и подчиненных может привести к неверной интерпретации высказываний, дискриминационному поведению и, как следствие, созданию недемократического государства. Так, демократические идеи Конфуция, Иисуса были поняты как антидемократические из-за использования архаичного языка и неточностей перевода.
