The foreign language teaching in Finland

The article deals with the combination in the Finnish education of the extra-curricular study of the foreign language, including by the means of watching the films with the subtitles, and the traditional education at the classes with the lead of the teacher, and the use of the language portfolio as the didactic material. The aim of the work is the analysis of the theoretical basis, concerning the issue. There is made the attempt to characterize the modern Finnish experience of the successful foreign language teaching and to reveal the efficiency of this approach in the process of the foreign language teaching in Finland.
