Assessment of the condition and quality of psychiatric service in the Republic of Buryatia

The article presents an analysis of the state and prospects of development of psychiatric service in the Republic of Buryatia according to the results of an independent economic and sociological study. The tendencies of mental disorders morbidity in the region are revealed, the structure and the material and technical base of psychiatric care are studied. The problems of staffing in the service were identified. A SWOT analysis of psychiatric services in the Republic of Buryatia was carried out, based on the data obtained in the course of the study. Prospective directions of development of psychiatric care in the region are proposed.
