The purpose of the article is to draw attention to the problem of the content of the integral education of a person in the angle of the methodology of a holistic approach. The author gives an analysis of the ideas of the integrity and systematicity presented in research. The task of substantiating the experience of self-knowledge was set as a humanitarian component of the content of a holistic education of a person. It was revealed that this experience is associated with the processes of personality meta-know. The conclusions proposed in the article on the possibilities of including the practice of meta-know in the content of education can serve as a material for professional dialogue on the further development of humanitarian educational technologies.
