The features of teaching listening at the initial stage of studying the Russian language by the Chinese philology students: the analysis of the results of the survey

The analysis of the results of the conducted study revealed the importance of listening for the formation of language competence, and determined the current level of proficiency of the skill and the difficulties that the philology students face at the initial stage of training. The study also identified the students’ preferences regarding the methods and ways of teaching listening, as well as the necessary conditions for the successful mastery of this skill. Based on the obtained results the recommendations are offered for optimizing the process of teaching listening, taking into account the specifics of teaching the Chinese philology students. The results of the study can be used to improve the effectiveness of teaching listening in the Russian in Chinese universities.
