Peculiarities of preparing a folk instrument orchestra for a concert performance

The article deals with the key features of preparing an orchestra of Russian folk instruments for a concert performance. The methods of effective work of the conductor and his role in the process of preparing orchestrators are revealed. Special attention is paid to the choice of repertoire and soloists. The object of the study is the process of preparation of folk instruments orchestra for concert performance. The subject of the study is the peculiarities of work with a folk instruments orchestra in the context of concert activity. The fundamental methods were analysis, synthesis, generalisation, and observation, which allowed us to identify the most effective ways of leading the orchestral ensemble. The work analyses the activity of the folk instruments orchestra of the Kazan State Institute of Culture under the direction of the People’s Artist of the Republic of Tatarstan, Professor R.E. Ilyasov. The methods of pedagogical work to eliminate stage fright, to establish ensemble work, the importance of using a variety of forms of work to prepare a concert performance was proved. The research has shown that in the work of the ensemble it is necessary to be regular and systematic, good preparation of the conductor for the concert and his qualitative knowledge of the scores. The acoustics of the hall and the composition of the listening audience should also be taken into account. The problems hindering a quality concert performance are substantiated: annual changes in the composition of the orchestra, different level of training of orchestrators, selection of soloists, and ways of overcoming them are noted. Psychological aspects that have a negative impact on the quality of performance are identified, as well as ways to overcome them.
