The peculiarities of HBO performance during limb lengthening in children with achondroplasia

The peculiarities of HBO performance during limb lengthening in 16 patients with achondroplasia are described. The amount of lengthening was 9-10 cm. When HBO was performed at the beginning of distraction it improved general condition and when it was performed in the second half of distraction it contributed to more complete recovery of the range of movements in the adjacent joints and to reducing the terms of the treatment with the device in situ.
