The essence, efficiency and advantages of the use of research teaching methods in the pedagogical process of comprehensive school are revealed. The limitations of the research teaching method and the possible ways of their overcoming in connection with the tendency in the labour market for the rise of the importance of mastering the basic research competencies are analyzed. The potential of using the interdisciplinary method of hypothesis in educational practice is considered.
