Translation of the article “The Passover lamb and the hyena, the ancient Arabic mother of blood vengeance” by Gunter Luling

The article examines such phenomena of ancient religious life as blood feud and Easter sacrifice, based on extensive scientific material. At the same time, made is an ambiguous assumption that in this context the idea of the redemptive sufferings of the Messiah, the anointed king is closely related to the archaic social system and the royal myth and rite, i. e. the Old Testament Easter sacrifice in a sense owes its appearance to the phenomenon of blood feud.
