Translation (with Preface) of “The Fourth Period. Modern Theology. Greek Theology” by Panagiotis Trembelas

This publication is a translation of a fragment of an article from the theological encyclopedia of the modern Greek scientist, prof. P. Trembelas. Due to the fact that the Russian reader is practically unaware of the names of authoritative Greek theologians of the period of Turkish rule, acquaintance with basic information about their life and about their theological concepts, would be very useful. This is especially true of difficult pages in the history of Greek theology, for it is important for a historian of theology to understand the historical causes of various misconceptions and to find out the ways in which the Orthodox Church can overcome the mistakes of one or another of its leaders.
