Potential of chorus group as a social and cultural environment to form civic and aesthetic competence of personality

Topicality of the researched problem due to the growing threat to national safety in the cultural area is discussed. Choral singing has spiritual and moral content, emotional, aesthetic, civic and patriotic impact on the singers and listeners of choral pieces and can be a means to involve the young generation in the national and cultural values of the Russian people. Corus group is a social and cultural platform to form the civic and aesthetic competence of personality, being a result of the integration of civic, moral and aesthetic education, forming civic identity, values based attitude to Motherland, folk culture and its abundant artistic and aesthetic traditions. Potential of the chorus group as a social and cultural environment to form civic and aesthetic competence is determined by the complex of its functions: educational, cognitive, communicative, artistic, aesthetic and recreational.
