Pragmatic aspect of translation of mass media headlines

The given article concerns the pragmatic aspect of translation of mass media headlines and translation transformations most frequently used during such translation. Mass media headliness often refer to the subjects which the recipient of the source text is familiar with, but which are not common for the target culture. Besides, the headlines can contain wordplay, abbreviations, homonyms, and other translation difficulties. The article concerns the transformations which can be used by a translator in order to provide pragmatic equivalence of the translation.
