Overcoming the linguistic barrier as the condition of the formation of speech skill in the process of mastering the foreign language

The issue of psychological and linguistic barriers of students, appearing in the process of mastering the foreign language, is analyzed. There are considered the parameters that are specific for “speech skill” and “speech ability”. The substantiation of the use of the communicative teaching methods for avoiding the barriers, associated with the development of speech activity in the foreign language, is explained. There is suggested the practice, oriented to the spontaneous communication in the group, supporting the elimination of psychological/linguistic barriers.
