Problems of application of standards in the activities of customs authorities

A strategic goal for the Russian Federal customs service in the near future is to improve the quality of customs authorities ' activities. One of the tools for achieving this goal is customs legislation, which plays an important role in international, national and regional standards. The article deals with the practice of applying state standards in the activities of customs authorities. As a rule, standards help to improve the quality of customs authorities ' work and give positive results in customs activities. Considering the results of quantitative and qualitative indicators of the activities of customs authorities, the problems of implementing standards in customs activities are identified, which are discussed in the article.
