Проблемы раннехристианской общины Коринфа в контексте римской культуры первого века

The Epistles of the Apostle Paul to the Church of Corinth is among the most informative texts of the New Testament, shedding light on the life of the communities that the Apostle Paul founded and preached in. This article discusses some of the most debated problems of the Corinthian Church. These are the issues of lack of unity in the Eucharistic Communion, the problem of the use of the idolatrous and the so-called dispute about the coverings. Based on the cultural traditions of the Roman Empire, the results of archaeological research and the historical context, the author tries to reveal the meaning of the prohibitions of the Apostle to the community, as well as to indicate the possible causes of their occurrence. During the study of these problems, the author comes to the conclusion that the considered disturbance in the Church was a natural development of cultural traditions that existed in cities with the Roman way of life. Despite the fact, that rivalry and vanity are a natural way of life for Corinthians, it is undoubtedly demanded the Apostle Paul pay very close attention because it threatened the unity of the community and contrary to the Christian spirit.
