Project activities as the tool of the development of universal competencies in the context of studying a foreign language

The article deals with the analysis of the experience of the project activities of students while studying a foreign language in University of Tyumen. There is revealed the potential of the use of the project method for the development of the universal competencies of students. The authors describe the principles of the organization and the stages of the project activities. There are presented the examples of the projects and the results of the students’ survey.
