Prognostication of educational process on the basis of empirical data

The article describes the outcomes of a sociological study done by Elabuga Center for Social Prognostication showing that against the background of the excessive number of university educated people produced by the local higher education system there exists a deficit of specialists necessary for sustained development of the city and the region. The data obtained is used for coordination of the city and regional administrations interrelations with the educational establishments and for elaborating managerial decisions aimed at altering the situation in education.
