Since the reform and opening up in China in 1978, in the face of new situations and challenges in different periods, the Chinese government has seized the opportunity timely to formulate various policies and relevant documents, and organize various educational activities, continuously promoting the in-depth development of patriotism education in colleges and universities, and accumulated a lot of valuable experience. Patriotic education in colleges and universities has been continuously improved with the development of the times which enriches socialist theory and marks the deepening of the understanding of by the Chinese government and the Communist Party of China on socialism and modernization. This paper mainly analyzes the development of patriotic education in colleges and universities since China's reform and opening ups and summarizes the evolution logic and development experience of the Chinese path, so as to provide reference and enlightenment for other countries to cultivate patriotic young people in the new era.
