The opportunities of the improved tool's application on the base of the Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA) in the strategical planning of regional socio-economic systems are demonstrated in the article. The use of the methodology consists in the evaluation of the regional systems comparative efficiency, the obtaining of the assessment and their use for the construction of the regional development sustainability indices.
