The current status and development directions of ESG banking in the Russian Federation

In this article, the authors examine the development of a national ESG banking model in the Russian Federation. They analyze key areas of environmental, social, and governance responsibility for banks. They also provide data on the growth of the ESG lending market and changes in its structure. Examples of systemically important and regional banks demonstrate the diversity of approaches to implementing ESG strategies. They emphasize the need for government support and the development of a unified regulatory framework to strengthen ESG banking.
