The modern social and economic situation in Russia challenges the educational institutions to change the teachers’ authorities. In addition to the subject training of students, teachers become the navigators of routes that are organized by the students independently. The new pedagogical speciality - tutor - moves to the forefront. There are demonstrated the specific features of tutor activity as a helping profession.
