In XX century, Russian Far Easterners were actively engaged in poetry, prose, essays, memoirs and translation in the cultural space of China. Their works demonstrated Chinese landscapes, folk traditions and customs. The existence of cultural barriers and the socio-political conditions of that time leaded to the fact that full-fledged cultural interactions did not arise between Russian emigrant writers and representatives of Chinese literature. The exception in this regard was the poet and translator V. Pereleshin. The article studies the peculiarities of the cultural situation in Harbin, as well as analyzes the genre-thematic features of V. Pereleshin's work and the principles of the evolution of his lyrics, examines the ideological and aesthetic originality of Russian aboard literature in China, researches the features of Pereleshin's creative personality, compares his work with the work of other emigrant writers. The author comes to the conclusion that the ideological and aesthetic originality of Russian aboard literature in China consisted in an endless longing for the Motherland, as well as in an "external" interest in the culture of China, which was not accompanied by a deep insight into the essence of the situation in which the country existed at that time. However, V. Pereleshin differed from other contemporaries in his desire to constantly deepen his knowledge about the surrounding reality, expand his cultural horizons, as well as his unique ability to extract from the external "heterogeneous" world everything that was useful for his work. The main genre-thematic differences of V. Pereleshin's work from other emigrant writers were expressed in the poet's extreme caution in relation to socio-political topics, the evolution of his lyrics from reproducing the emotional background of the poet's creative life to bold ideological declarations, which were due to the objective socio-political situation, the peculiarities of the emigrant poet's creative self-identification, the process of his spiritual growth, as well as personal reasons. Further research in this direction will help to determine Russian abroad literature in the Far East’s significance and role in cross-cultural communications’ development of the West and the East, as well as to formulate conclusions about the phenomenon of Russian abroad literature in the Far East, its role and place in the historical and literary context of the XX and XXI centuries.
