Th e concept, essence, defi nition and interpretation of law is investigated, which is a regulator of public relations. Various approaches to understanding the essence of the right existing in legal science are analyzed. Also special att ention is paid to the problems of the relationship with other social regulators, such as morality, adat (usual law), traditions and religious standards.
