The article deals with the peculiarities of the modern art allowing to use it as the semantic basis of the spiritual and moral education of the students of the secondary general school. There is substantiated the importance of including the modern art as a separate component in the structure of the school education. There are given the concrete examples of the existence of the axiological orientation in the works of the modern art.
