Универсальный архетип Мирового древа выступает в чувашской и мордовской мифоязыческой картинах мира одним из важнейших элементов. Заключая в себе традиционные представления о мироздании, в каждой этнической культуре оно обрело и уникальные символические значения, выраженные в культовых элементах и обрядовой деятельности. Чувственно-наглядной формой воплощения данного архетипа у мордвы и чувашей являлись священные деревья, произраставшие в кереметищах (языческих культовых центрах), где совершались моления. В статье анализируются особенности и функции Мирового дерева в его связи с культом киреметь (кереметь). Делается вывод о роли данного архетипа в мифологическом сознании предков и его влиянии на культуру современного человека.

The world tree in the mythological picture of the world of the chuvash and mordovian ethnos
The universal archetype of the World Tree is one of the most important elements in the Chuvash and Mordovian mythological and pagan pictures of the world. Containing traditional ideas about the universe, in each ethnic culture it has also acquired unique symbolic meanings, expressed in cult elements and ritual activities. The sensually visual form of the embodiment of this archetype among the Mordovians and Chuvashs was the sacred trees that grew in keremetishches (pagan cult centers), where prayers were performed. The article analyzes the features and functions of the World Tree in its connection with the cult of kiremet (keremet). The conclusion is made about the role of this archetype in the mythological consciousness of the ancestors and its influence on the culture of modern man.
