The article under review deals with the importance of cooperation in rural areas in the conditions of economic globalization. It emphasizes the necessity of the co-operative system development to improve the competitiveness of agricultural producers. The author presents the main directions of the Concept of co-operation development in rural areas, analyzes the work of the All-Russian Congress of rural co-operatives. The final part of this work presents problems, opportunities and prospects for the agricultural co-operation development.
