One of the major issues in contemporary text linguistics is the analysis of the cognitive principles of distributing information in a literary text. Literary text unlike other types of the texts holds subtextual and conceptual information which could be encoded by the readers when they identify foregrounded parts of the text. Foregrounding is the type of cognitive principles of distributing information in the text and its main function is guiding the readers in interpretation of hidden and conceptual message of the text by showing some signals (important extracts) to the readers. In this article, the types and techniques of foregrounding are discussed, and their usages are observed in the short story The Luncheon by S. Maugham.

The role of gestures and mimics in conveying affirmation concept

The research object and the purpose of this article is the gestures, various body movements, the position of facial expressions that have a role in the delivery of our affirmative thoughts. The concept of affirmation is a complex process associated with reviving the images of “completeness”, “existence”, “being”, and “nearness” in our brains. Asking others for their opinions, evaluate the success of others, use sincere facial expressions and gestures, sympathize others’ problems, and so on are examples of micro-affirmations. Affirmation, which is primarily a semantic category, has a close relation with Psychology and Philosophy. Communication is not just a matter of words. Symbols play an important role in communication. Non-verbal communication contains 60/80 percent of the secret information of the thought process. Gestures are movements of the head and other parts of the body (lips, eyebrows, eyelashes, nose) that reflect different emotions. Gestures were created by different peoples at different times. People use signs and symbols which describe the places and things they want do explain during communication. People increase the effect of what they say by adding different meanings to their speech through body language. Without the use of gestures, body movements, speech is understood as simple, emotionally draining and boring. In this case, the listener will not feel the effect of what is emphasized, because he will not receive any stimuli. Body language is considered the most important aspect of communication because it sends a signal of how we actually feel. In all cultures, however, there are common gestures, including the gestures used to convey the concept of affirmation. But gestures are culturally based, so awareness of their different meanings in different countries provide us with strong communication.

The article explores the influence of kinesic phenomena, such as gestures and body movements, on the development of idiomatic expressions in both languages. It examines how culturally specific gestures and physical actions are verbalized and incorporated into idiomatic phrases, reflecting the unique cultural perceptions and communicative practices of Russian and English speakers. By conducting a comparative linguistic analysis, the study identifies similarities and differences in the way kinesics is integrated into idiomatic expressions, highlighting the role of nonverbal communication in language formation and its impact on the semantic richness of idioms. The findings of this research underscore the importance of understanding the cultural and linguistic contexts in which idiomatic expressions are used, offering insights for translators, linguists, and intercultural communication specialists.

This article explores the critical role of linguistic devices in shaping the personalities of characters in the works of Chingiz Aitmatov. It investigates how Aitmatov employs a range of stylistic elements-such as lexical choices, syntactic structures, metaphors, symbolism, and imagery-to construct multi-dimensional character portrayals that resonate with emotional and cultural depth. The study demonstrates that these linguistic means not only mirror the socio-cultural context in which Aitmatov wrote but also serve as essential tools for conveying the internal life, moral dilemmas, and psychological intricacies of his characters. By analyzing specific examples from Aitmatov's oeuvre, the article highlights the interplay between language and character development, offering insights into how literary language can enhance narrative realism and engage readers on a profound level.

The world turns out to be a small village due to globalization and communication technologies. In this new world, different cultures and communication means have interlaced and started to increasingly affect each other, leading communication and culture to transform into two organic structures that feed each other. The culture in which individuals socialize also determines these individual’s ways of communication. It is necessary to examine the communicational behaviours of the members of given societies to distinguish the differences between these cultures. The skills of different people who live in different cultures in enduring the information load would also be different. Today, it is possible to transfer any information via news media in an instant. This, as a result, increases the significance of new media in intercultural communication.

Under the influence of glucagon, the process of converting glycogen into glucose begins to take an active form in the liver and some other organs. Glucagon helps to increase the amount of glucose in the blood due to the activation of phosphorylase, which is involved in the breakdown of glycogen in the presence of glucose. Different animals have different sensitivity to glucagon. Glucagon affects fat metabolism and stimulates the breakdown of fat in adipose tissue.

The article examines the importance of practical training in the educational training of future speech therapists. Various forms of practical training, such as laboratory work, clinical practice and simulation training, and their impact on the development of special competencies are analyzed. Special attention is paid to the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical skills, as well as the development of professional thinking and independence of students. The results of an empirical study confirming the effectiveness of practical training in the formation of skills necessary for the successful professional activity of speech therapists are presented. The conclusions of the article emphasize the need to strengthen the practical component in educational programs for the training of highly qualified specialists in the field of speech therapy.

Of course, it should be taken into account that people who are on this way do not read articles related to awareness of this problem, but those who tend helping them should be informed. Victims of bad habits are serious patients.

In this article the structure of species including in Valerianella Genus was studied with geobotanical methods, their role in phytocenosis, their formations, and associations were determined in the vegetation cover in Soyugdagh and Khorhat mountainous areas of Ordubad region. It has been determined that although the species of the Valerianella Genus are small numbers in phytocenosis and associations, they have great importance in improving the fodder quality of the vegetation. This plays an important role in the enrichment of food ration of Bezoar Goat and other herbivorous animals that inhabit the area of Zangezur National Park.

The role of sugar beet pests and entomophages in sugar beet agrocenoses in Azerbaijan

The studies have been taken in condition of laboratory and in suburbs in 2014-2018. The laboratory experiences have been carried out in the automatic-controlled specific thermostats and in room condition at the Applied Zoology Center of the Institute of Zoology of Azerbaijan NAS. The suburb practices were held in the specific stationary fields, in the agriculture of Imishli and Aghdash in which the sugar beets were planted. As a result of a comprehensive study carried out on stationary fields and adjacent territories, it was determined that 22 species, 18 genera, 4 families from the order Coleoptera, 5 species, 5 genera, 3 families from the order Hemiptera, 8 species, 7 genera, 3 families from the order Orthoptera, 1 species, 1 genus, 1 family from the order Diptera, 12 species, 8 genera, 4 families from the order Lepidoptera live in the beetroot agrocenosis at different times of the year and are subject to subsistence farming. Of the species found in agrocenoses, 33 are periodically observed and do not cause economic damage to farms, 11 are permanent and can cause serious damage during massive growth. Six species (Bothynoderes punctiventris, Chaetocnema concinna, Ch. breviuscula, Aphis fabae, Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa, Agrotis segetum) were permanent residents of the agrocenosis. Each year, they seriously reduce productivity. It is known that there are a part of pests having a place to diverse groups which harm plants and decrease performance in sugar beet agrocenosis. Entomophages regulate the number of pests and prevent their massive growth in sugar beet agrocenosis. Entomophages such as predator ground beetles, rove beetles, spiders and predator ticks, which are spread in sugar beet agrocenosis, are polyphages, therefore during the vegetation of plant they are nourished by pests and have important economic importance for the agrocenosis. As a result, almost all activities of the polyphage entomophages in the agrocenosis are practically valuable. Thus, they are closely involved in regulating the number of insect pests in the sugar beet fields and minimizing their harmful activities.

The direct (explicit) and indirect (implicit) realization of opposition in a literary text is studied. Seven stages of text creation are covered. An attempt was also made to systematize the ways of expressing the category of intensity that affects the expression of artistic opposition.

The article discusses the biological, physical, and chemical properties of natural drinking and bottled mineral waters and examines their mechanism of effect on human health. It provides information on the criteria that drinking water must meet to be considered safe and offers a comparative analysis of mineral waters. The use of various types of mineral waters in the treatment of specific diseases is investigated. The physical and chemical indicators of mineral waters produced in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and their benefits are described. The research concludes that while proper and effective use of mineral waters is beneficial to human health, improper use without considering their composition can lead to serious safety issues.

Relevance of this pathology is since both eyes are affected, characterized by a sluggish, relapsing course, affecting children and adolescents. Since this pathology is based on aseptic inflammation of the vascular wall in the retina of autoimmune origin, leading to hemodynamic disorders, our goal is to study the significance of hemodynamic disorders in various ocular fundus changes in patients with idiopathic retinovasculitis. Special research methods have been performed: autoperimetry, biomicroscopy of the anterior segment and internal structures of the eye, direct and reverse ophthalmoscopy, OCT of optic disc and yellow spot, autofluorescence vascular OCT with central retinal artery and central retinal vein calibrometry, ultrasound Doppler sonography of retinal vessels. Blood tests for antibodies of viral, bacterial and infectious diseases, immune status testing. Results: greater increase in the linear velocity of blood flow in the arteria ophthalmica, central retinal artery and central retinal vein and superior orbital vein in patients with neuroretinopathy: respectively: 64.86±0.46 cm/sec, 62.0±1.03 cm/sec (P

This article is devoted to studying teacher literacy of IELTS writing Task 2 assessment in Azerbaijan as a developing country. The problem regarding lack of teacher literacy in this area as well as reasons lying behind it were discussed to achieve an expedient conclusion. The article also describes further plans in regard to possible solutions to this problem. Writing is a very challenging module for IELTS teachers in Azerbaijan regarding the implementation of right tools while evaluating. We are convinced of this because of our awareness of students’ unfavorable writing Task 2 results in Azerbaijan. Considering the fact that ongoing assessment is an inseparable part of teaching, it appears reasonable that it is teacher’s literacy level of assessment, as one of the greatly influential factors, that lies at the root of students’ adverse writing test results. The reason that makes us to focus on teacher assessment literacy in regard to this issue is that both need for teaching to IELTS test as well as integration of assessment methods into teaching process are new tendencies in Azerbaijan which require some more time and efforts from teachers to adapt. So teacher literacy of IELTS writing Task 2 assessment is generally the main idea of this article.

During period 2015-2020 spreading of acanthocephaliasis in the rainbow and brown trout in the fish breeding farms of Azerbaijan Republic was studied. Totally, from 668 fish examined specimens 430 (64.37%) were infected. Correlation of data on the extensiveness and intensity of invasion by thorny-headed worms (Acanthocephala) in trout farms is ventured to make an assumption about unfavorable epidemiological situation in trout breeding farms of the Republic of Azerbaijan. For the purpose of control acanthocephaliasis in trout, a number of drugs were used. The most effective drug was Tetramizole-20%, which was adopted in the trout farms.
