For example, ancient Rome was the biggest and the richest state of the ancient world. It became rich mostly with the help of its army and emperors. But to normalizing the relations, people’s everyday life and not have any conflicts Rome needed a good economy, which is impossible without the knowledge of Economics. Secondly, Rome is the one of the most beautiful cities with its cathedrals, statues, and ancient buildings. The most famous building in Rome is Coliseum. It is famous for its gladiatorial fights. Roman governors regularly took taxies from the conquered nations. Without the economy, which helped Roman to control taking taxies and prevent corruption and robberies, Rome would fall as the empire. Thirdly, with a developed economy a level of life in the state rises. Rome had great theatres which everyone could visit, famous Roman baths where people, especially politicians and the representatives of aristocracy, had a rest, and, of course, gladiatorial fights. It is a well-known fact that it was a favourite kind of their entertainment.

Nowadays economy plays the same role. But its influence is becoming bigger and bigger. It touches upon not only economic problems. If you have chosen Economics to study, you can have a great choice of professions. With a good economic education you can work, for example, in tourism. It is great for people who want to see the world and get an experience of communicating with people. You can also become a lawyer. It is a very prestigious and well-paid job. Good lawyers are in demand all over the world. If you do not like these professions, you can have your own business. It is very hard. But having a profound economic education you will be successful. The best businessmen get millions of dollars all over the world.

As for Russia, its economy strongly depends on its vast natural resources, such as gas, oil, coal and precious metals. The Russian economy is the 8th largest economy in the world. However, it has experienced great changes lately, as it has been affected by global economic crisis. The inflation rate in Russia is quite high and the prices are growing year by year. Unemployment and poverty still remain one of the serious economic problems.

The British economy consists of the economies of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. The economy of England is the largest of four countries because England is a highly industrialized country. It is an important producer of textiles and chemical products. The aerospace, defense and pharmaceutical industries play a key role in the development of British economy.

There are also many poverty-stricken countries in the world, which are mainly situated in Africa. These countries are known as developing or less-developed countries. The economy in such countries is on a rather low level yet, but they are slowly developing.

In conclusion, I would like to stress that economy and Economics have always been playing a great role in social life. And if you have chosen this way, you will discover a lot of new about world relations, business, tourism, and other spheres of life.
