Коротко обсуждаются вопросы истории спондилоартритов (СпА) от статьи J. Moll и соавт., опубликованной в 1974 г., до настоящих дней. Особое место занимает обсуждение последней концепции СпА, предложенной ASAS, которая разделила данную группу болезней на аксиальный и периферический варианты с разработкой соответствующих критериев. Такое разделение, с одной стороны, позволило быстро внедрить принципы ранней диагностики аксиальных СпА, однако с другой - тормозит процессы изучения их как генетически и клинически связанного комплекса заболеваний.
