Данная работа – памятный очерк о выдающемся педагоге и методологе, где есть личные воспоминания о сотрудничестве с В.В. Краевским, раскрывается его вклад в разработку образовательных стандартов, развитие дидактики и компетентностного подхода, подчеркивается значение научного наследия ученого для современной педагогики. Образ ученого лишен хрестоматийного глянца: он предстает нравственным интеллигентом, человеком абсолютной интеллектуальной честности, публично сложившим с себя полномочия члена президиума РАО в знак протеста против нарушения руководством этических норм. Утверждается непреходящая актуальность научного наследия В.В. Краевского как необходимого камертона для современных ученых и педагогов.

The Last of the Mohicans. To the 100th anniversary of V.V. Kraevsky
The study is the memorable essay of the outstanding teacher and methodologist, including the personal recollections of the collaboration with V.V. Kraevsky. His contribution to the development of educational standards, the development of didactics and competency-based approach is described, the significance of scientific heritage of the scientist for modern pedagogy is underlined. The image of the scientist is devoid of textbook gloss: it appears as a moral intellectual, the person of absolute intellectual honesty who publicly resigned as the member of the presidium of the Russian Academy of Education in protest against the leadership’s violation of ethical norms. The enduring relevance of scientific heritage of V.V. Kraevsky is stated as a necessary fork for modern scientists and teachers.
