"Высоко на сопках твоих стою": конструирование смыслов в гимнах Карелии и КФССР

В статье анализируются семантика и прагматика государственного гимна Республики Карелия и процесс его принятия. Гимн Карелии содержит в основе народную песню, обращаясь, таким образом, к абстрактному прошлому. Текст гимна содержит мало специфических черт, отличающих Карелию от других регионов. В то же время в нем не обозначаются взаимоотношения республики с Российской Федерацией. Саморепрезентация республик относительно России - частый мотив в текстах гимнов национальных республик Российской Федерации. Обычно он касается, с одной стороны, попытки позиционировать себя как самостоятельное государство. С другой - подчеркнуть свою принадлежность к Федерации в качестве ее части. Анализируются также критерии выбора гимна Карело-Финской ССР, который должен был подчеркивать самобытность «карело-финского народа», несмотря на акцент на неразрывность судьбы КФССР и СССР. Опыт КФССР никак не был воспринят при принятии гимна Республики Карелия. Музыка гимна основывается на песне «Karjalan kunnailla», средняя часть символа полностью воспроизводит народную песню. Государственный гимн Карелии не обладает мобилизационным потенциалом.

Актуальность одного из «вечных» вопросов отечественной умственной жизни - вокруг творцов каких новых ценностей «вращается мир» (так полемически обозначенный С. Франком) - определена была остротой самого исторического момента: революционная ситуация (в соответствии с марксистской ее формулировкой) вызревала в недрах еще великой, но уже «больной» страны, верховная власть которой, политические элиты, интеллигенция никоим образом не справлялись со своими свыше начертанными задачами. Необходимость переоценки ценностей одними понималась как установка на революционный радикализм, другими - как признание «теоретического первенства» духовных аксиом над «внешними формами общежития»; одни противопоставляли идее внутреннего самосовершенствования «соборность», другие же абсолютизировали роль личности в истории, в буквальном смысле слова «создавали себе кумиров». В статье рассматривается проблема радикальной переоценки взаимоотношений человека с миром в «эгоистической» философии Макса Штирнера, чьи идеи послужили основой ницшеанского бунта против общественных устоев, традиционных ценностей и христианской морали, социального, анархического бунта против основ общественного устройства и государства. Утверждается, что «религия человека» как критическое переосмысление идей Фейербаха оказалась адекватной содержанию и форме новой философской («антропологической») парадигмы. В работе доказывается, что на благодатной русской культурной почве эти весьма экстравагантные по форме представления (презентации когнитивных смыслов), однако основывающиеся на справедливых критических умозаключениях, нашли самобытный отклик по целому ряду причин (объективных и субъективных факторов общественного развития накануне первой русской революции). Делается закономерный вывод о том, что в социокультурном контексте «конца века» (в ситуации общего кризиса знания, дискредитации «классической рациональности», крушения гуманизма и смены культурной парадигмы) эта колоритная фигура очередного «властителя дум» наиболее соответствовала ожиданиям заинтересованных сторон (как «слева» и «справа», так и в центре, а также на периферии этого противостояния новейших идей и мнений).

"Места памяти" Петра I в городе Петрозаводске

В статье рассматриваются памятные места, связанные с именем Петра I в Петрозаводске. Основной целью статьи является реконструкция истории мемориальных сооружений, определение их связи с городским ландшафтом, выявление коммеморативных практик. Данное исследование претендует на восполнение лакуны, связанной с изучением памятных мест, которая возникла в историографии города. Наиболее частыми поводами для коммеморации Петра I являлись юбилеи (императора, завода, Петрозаводска), а также трагические события в истории России и связанные с ними процессы. Автор показывает, как изменение социального строя повлияло на отношение к памятнику Петру I: от созидания до разрушения, от забвения до восстановления. Изучается комплекс социокультурных акций, связанных с памятником Петру I (охрана, реставрация). Проводится исследование широкого круга коммеморативных практик (церемонии закладки, открытия, его перемещение по городу, ритуальные действия с памятником).

14-19 июля 2019 года состоялся XVII Симпозиум Международного общества Ф. М. Достоевского (International Dostoevsky Society, IDS). Он проходил в Бостонском университете (США, штат Массачусетс) и был посвящен 150-летию романа «Идиот». В Симпозиуме приняли участие представители Петрозаводского государственного университета, одного из мировых центров по изучению жизни и творчества великого писателя: В. Н. Захаров, президент IDS (с 2013 по 2019 годы), д. филол. н., заведующий кафедрой классической филологии, русской литературы и журналистики, и И. С. Андрианова, к. филол. н., заведующая Web-лабораторией Института филологии и Гуманитарного инновационного парка.

"Сказки Водлозерья" в контексте локальной фольклорной традиции

Выход в свет сборника «Сказки Водлозерья» - второго (первый «Предания и былички») собрания с грифом «Памятники русского фольклора Водлозерья» - явился основанием обратиться к устно-поэтической традиции отдельной, обособленной в силу многих причин территории Пудожского района Карелии, которая с древнейших времен была местом компактного проживания особой этнолокальной группы населения - «водлозёров». Обретя статус Национального парка «Водлозерский», эта территория в последние десятилетия стала объектом пристального внимания. В статье воссоздается история изучения фольклорной традиции края, особо рассматриваются два названных собрания. Доминантой статьи является анализ, по существу подробная рецензия на сборник «Сказки Водлозерья», выясняющая как научный уровень издания, так и особенности сказочной традиции Водлозерья в соотнесенности со сказочной традицией всего Пудожского края. В статье предлагается обзор и других публикаций, содержащих материалы о фольклорной культуре Водлозерья.

В статье представлен анализ основных характеристик труда в советской лесной отрасли на примере Карелии середины 1960-х гг. В данный период центральная отрасль региональной экономики вступила в полосу перманентного производственного спада, сопровождавшегося снижением объемов заготавливаемого леса, закрытием леспромхозов, увеличением текучести кадров. Одной из главных причин такого положения стали особенности реализации социально-трудовых отношений, сложившихся на тот момент в региональной лесной промышленности. Данные особенности проявились в таких характеристиках трудовой деятельности, как формализм, наличие казенной среды труда, рудименты раннеиндустриального труда, высокие показатели производственного травматизма, слабая приспособляемость к любым положительным новшествам, воспроизводимость неэффективной системы труда и его материального и морального поощрения, прогулы, текучесть кадров. Автор приходит к выводу, что особенности реализации социально-трудовых отношений, сложившихся в лесной отрасли Карелии в середине 1960-х гг., стали «миной замедленного действия», которая привела главную отрасль региональной экономики к тяжелому кризису в последующие десятилетия.

"Сыворотка правды": шведская антиутопия К. Бойе "Каллокаин"

Актуальность данной статьи обусловлена обращением к насущной на сегодняшний день проблеме в области гуманитарных наук (культурологии, филологии и социологии): к характеристике антиутопии, возникшей в ХХ - XXI веках, и ее различным национальным модификациям. Цель статьи выявить характерные черты антиутопии в скандинавском (шведском) романе К. Бойе «Каллокаин» и выстроить некоторые параллели с романом Е. Замятина «Мы». Во всем тексте статьи доказывается положение: большинство специфических признаков антиутопии обусловлено категорией хронотопа. Основными методами исследования стали описательно-аналитический, сравнительно-типологический методы, метод обобщения, культурно-исторический метод, метод мотивного анализа, контекстуальный анализ текста. В художественном пространстве обоих произведений реализуется модель государственного обустройства, позиционируемая как идеальная, но при пристальном взгляде - это модель тоталитарной системы правления: сами государства изолированы от окружающего мира, который представлен в романах чужим и враждебным. Царящие в Мировой Империи (роман К. Бойе) и в Едином Государстве (роман Е. Замятина) порядок, стабильность и равноправие оборачиваются, доведенными до своего гротескового предела, всеобщим уравниванием жителей и государственным регулированием всех сфер человеческой жизнедеятельности, включая интимную.

"Хороша девка, как репка": этнолингвистический портрет реалии репа в русском языке

Статья посвящена изучению комплекса представлений, характеризующих образ репы в русском языковом сознании. Фактологической базой исследования стали данные толковых, диалектных, исторических словарей, а также некоторых этнолингвистических источников. Целью исследования стала систематизация и анализ языкового материала, характеризующего портрет данной реалии в русском языке. Приведенные в работе наблюдения позволяют сделать вывод, что в образе репы язык и традиционные культурные контексты отражают как бытовое, сугубо практическое представление об этом растении, так и глубокую архаику, связанную с восприятием репы (ее сопоставление с мышью, «женскость» в представлении о репе, отождествление репы и головы, эталонность репы как растения и др.). В целом образ, отраженный в русской лексике и идиоматике, позволяет вскрыть целый ряд представлений о репе как растении и пищевом продукте в национальной русской картине мира.

Administrative liability for the illegal felling of forests

This article looks at problems existing in the sphere of application of legal norms which regulate the process of imposing administrative liability for the illegal felling of trees and shrubs in Russia. Administrative liability for violations in the sphere of use and protection of forests in Russia is becoming the issue of high priority due to the development of the timber industry in the Russian Federation over recent years. Being the most common type of liability for violations of environmental law, administrative liability creates tools for authorized state organs and officials to hold individuals and legal entities liable for certain offences. Due to the imperfection of administrative legislation which stipulates penalties for violating the rules of use and protection of forests, as well as complex classification of offences in this sphere, in practice there is a problem of proper qualification of the offences by authorities presiding over the cases. The enforcement problems are mainly connected with absence of a clear definition of forest and forest zones.

August 1991 as a turning-point in the Finnish-Russian relations

The attempted coup in Moscow, August 19-21, 1991, can be seen as a turning-point in the Finnish-Soviet and Finnish-Russian relations. As a result of these events, the old Cold-War Europe was definitively left behind and the so-called New Europe entered instead to determine the mutual relations. Actually, the question is about gradual even though relatively rapid developments ranging from the perestroika in the latter half of the 1980s to about early 1992. Yet the critical days, August 19-21, 1991, were of crucial significance in this process. The change comprised all aspects of inter-state relations: The Finnish neutrality and the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance (FCA Pact) as foundations of the political relations were replaced by military non-alliance and independent defence as the Finnish security-policy doctrine and a new Treaty of the Foundations of Relations between Finland and the Russian Federation, respectively. Cultural landscape and semiotic space of monasteries of the Russian north

The article explores the theoretical concepts of cultural landscape, analyzes this concept, and defines the concepts of cultural landscape, anthropogenic landscape, natural and cultural territorial complex, etc. The relevance of the study is associated with the growing interest in the Russian North region, which has seen the revival of the Russian Orthodox monasteries preserving the memory of Russia’s historical and spiritual past. The purpose of this article is to study the cultural landscape of the Russian North with its multilayer structure. The objectives of the study were to determine the objects of the cultural landscape and reveal various layers of the cultural landscapes of the Valaam and the Solovetsky archipelagos. The research methodology included data collection, classification and analysis, modeling, and the study of archival and other sources. The study resulted in determining and describing the main layers of the cultural landscape of the said archipelagos.

The study is a contribution to the development of the philosophy of education. The author aims to articulate more explicitly the educational potential of poststructuralist’s philosophy from the perspective of teaching a foreign language (English) at school. The author’s English teaching experience has provided an empirical basis for the study. Starting from the basic ideas of Derrida, Deleuze and Barth, the author shows that the practice of teaching English should be aimed at cultivating a person as a source of meaning-making activity. The article demonstrates that this personality model is realized by creating a person-oriented situation in the learning process, that includes a psycho-education teacher, a student-interpreter, and text as a sociocultural phenomenon. This educational model based on the principle of interculturalism and aimed at students’ searching for and generating meanings in the learning process meets the person’s essential needs for self-understanding and self-expression.

From the early years of Independence up to the beginning of the 1960s Finland practised foreign-trade policies which were conspicuously protectionist for a small West European and Nordic country highly dependent on foreign trade. Finnish import duties corresponded to those of industrial countries with large domestic market, while war-time import regulations were extended largely for protectionist purposes. Free-trade integration consisted of free trade in industrial goods within Western Europe. In 1961, Finland concluded a separate agreement with the member countries of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), becoming a “full member” of the EFTA in 1986, and, in 1973, a free trade agreement with the European Communities (EC). Large-scale trade with the Soviet Union complemented the Finnish foreign trade. Integration solutions with regard to Western Europe included special arrangements to safeguard the Eastern trade. Higher education, the global governors, and epistemic governance

Using a neo-institutionalist framework of epistemic governance, this paper reviews how individual universities and national systems of higher education globally are being reformed according to a global script. A number of global governors, such as intergovernmental organisations and INGOs, are involved in making and circulating these scripts. However, this perspective highlights that such governance is well-hidden. Most university managers or national policy-makers are not even aware of global governance that functions by working on how we perceive the world and what reforms are desirable. Driven by realist assumptions of the social world (as common in International Relations theories), analysts and activists tend to look at these global governors as power centres that dictate policy measures. Yet, the same analysts stumble against the obvious problem that these ‘governors’ are not governing in the traditional sense of the term. Rather, those reforming their own universities think according to the same global scripts, and generally believe it is a perfectly reasonable and locally appropriate way of reforming. This is one reason why the similar reforms keep taking place around the world despite considerable criticism. The framework of epistemic governance draws attention to systemic, worldwide patterns underlying the hidden politics of national higher education policies, such as massification and utilitarianism as analysed here.

Intentionality, life-world, being-in-the-world as phenomena of educational practice

The paper concentrates on the exploration of the philosophy and methodology of pedagogy with the special focus on the philosophical study of the “intentionality”, “life-world” and “being-in-the world”. The aim of this study is to highlight these phenomenological concepts and reveal the possibilities of phenomenology in the study of educational space through implanting them into the educational discourse. The author explores the everyday educational reality, as well as the meanings that this reality receives in the minds of the teacher and the student. The article also describes the multiple ways of understanding the space into which teachers and students are immersed. The hermeneutic phenomenology method used in the research helps to demonstrate how heuristic and productive the “life-world” concept is when it is applied for analyzing educational reality. At the end of the research the author concludes that the specificity of human existence lies in its “life-world” or “being-in-the world”. Therefore, the teacher and the student can be separated from each other by their own space-time, while the very “spatiality” of pedagogical relationships is discrete. In this regard, pedagogical encounters are possible only if they are based on some meaningful structures that form the basis of the students’ life-world.

Language, communication and philosophy of education

The author argues that understanding crisis phenomena in an education system, as well as conditions of upgrading this system, is connected with development of a philosophy of education focused on such categories as language and communication. The heuristic and productive nature of theory of communicative action and hermeneutics is shown while comprehending the specific nature of learning environment where a pedagogical interaction between a teacher and students is carried out. Taking into account the ideas of J. Habermas, H. G. Gadamer and L. Wittgenstein, it is shown that education is a process of human development if it is organised as a process of searching for and generating meanings by the students. This educational process model corresponding to essential human need for self-understanding and self-expression.

Literary history of the tale of St. Abraham: textual criticism, poetics

The article is devoted to the literary history of The Tale of St. Abraham, which is ascribed to Ephrem the Syrian. The Tale was widely spread in the Christian tradition of the West and the East. The article summarizes the results of a study of the 60 Slavic manuscripts of the Tale (Russian, Bulgarian, and Serbian), as well as its publications in the XVII-XIX centuries in Syriac, Greek, Latin, and Polish, which are based on early manuscripts of the Tale. As a result, textological research showed that the Tale was exposed to editing several times in its literary history. We can mark seven editions of the Tale, which are spread in the Slavonic manuscripts. The Main Edition is represented by 42 copies of the XII-XVIII centuries; the First Prologue Edition is represented by a Russian copy of the XII century; the Second Prologue Edition is represented by ten copies of the XVI-XVII centuries; the First Solovetskaya Edition is known in the handwritten tradition through two re-written copies of the XVI-XVII centuries; the Second Solovetskaya and Sofia Editions are familiar only through one re-written copy of the XVI century; the Speculum maius Edition is represented by ten copies of the 1st translation from the XVII-XVIII centuries. The copies’ analysis lets us establish its genealogy and, thus, recreate the existing history of the Tale’s text in the Ancient Rus booklore

Means and methods of building emotion in online flash fiction

Online fiction is often known as an experimental platform for searching new literary forms and unconventional ways of making an emotional impact on readers. Contests hosted by many online platforms uncover high-profile texts. The article deals with a story in the genre of nanofantasy (up to 5,000 symbols) “The Final Cup of Wine” written by D. Laputina and published on M. Moshkov’s Samizdat platform as part of the 2021 contest conducted by the Chemistry and Life journal for several years in a row. The story stood out both for its bright and sensible images and for the emotional response of the readers. The article examines the means and methods of building emotion in the story from the ethical and esthetic points of view. Flash fiction implies the highest concentration of sensibility in the text as a mechanism for grasping the world sensually. A number of esthetic categories used in the text deserve special attention. At the same time, moral issues are closely woven into the narrative fabric, presenting a complex set of problems related to artificial intelligence, respect for human life, murder, ethics, and so on. The ultimate inability to verify an online author’s identity acts as an additional emotional component of the overall esthetic impact on the reader. Moreover, the competitive environment presupposes the possibility of interpersonal communication between the author and the reader when comments on the text become an integral part of the text itself. These comments can take various forms and serve as an object of a separate study. This article, however, considers comments as a means of intensifying emotional impact actively used by online authors through the example of a particular story and its anonymous author.
