Концептосфера чудесного в сказках Л. Кэрролла Alice's adventures in Wonderlandand through the looking-glass

Modern science is characterized by special attention to neural technologies. Neural linguistics plays a key role in these investigations. In fact, we know much today about different types of languages and their structures, but we would like to know more about the way our brain processes information, how and why a person can present verbally and visually his feelings and thoughts. The author believes that tales can help us understand these connections more clearly, because tales reflect cognitive faculties of our mind. In the present article the author investigates the concept sphere of wonder in Lewis Carroll's tales Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass. Linguistic and cognitive features of the manifestation of the concept WONDER are described. Puns, occasional words, antonyms, neologisms, humanlike characters, transformations, chronology violation skillfully used by the author to create the atmosphere of wonder are revealed in the texts. The concept WONDER has both cognitive and emotional nature. On the one hand, wonder is motivated by curiosity, but on the other hand, it causes a large spectrum of emotions. These emotions are conceptualized and associated with national characteristics. Therefore, the author can state the cultural markedness of the concept WONDER. The author comes to the conclusion that the tales under analysis contribute to getting deeper into the essence of the cognitive processes, realizing the connection between language, thinking and memory. There is no doubt that these trends are relevant for today's science.
