The Application of Database Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) in Teacher-to-Teacher Assessment

By studying the simulated process of teacher-to-teacher assessment, the article elaborates on the scientificity and objectiveness of the application of AHP in assessing teachers’ comprehensive working performance. Through computer programming, AHP is put into practice in the field of scientifically assessing teachers’ working performance. Furthermore, it argues for the application of database in managing and assessing data as well as computer software in evaluating and calculating. This software also is applicable to other kinds of multiple-objective decision-making and assessing.

Reverse thinking as a common way of thinking has been recognized in course teaching of higher education , but it is only mainly applied in the traditional subjects and rarely used in the professional course teaching of educational technology. This paper makes use of the principle of reverse thinking, designs the teaching process of distance education with the strategies of "reverse conversion", "process inversion," "reversing the position" and "finding causes from results", the "distance education", and summarizes the application of reverse thinking in the teaching of higher education technology field.

The Application of “3S” (GIS, RS and GPS) Technology to the Study of China FangZhen Period

This paper sets out to explore the potential of “3S” (GIS, RS and GPS) technology in the area of historical geography studies in particular. During the later years of Tang dynasty the most of lands between Yellow River and Yangtze River suffered a chaotic juxtaposition of separatist regimes, i.e., FangZhen. By using relevant vector data, GPS data and remote sensing satellite imaginary on the appropriate platform of GIS, we improved the quality and accuracy of scientific studies of FangZhen Period much more than before. Tang FangZhen Information System, a focused custom GIS system, has also been developed here to explore the formation and development of FangZhen. GIS processes such as area, point and line representation and tracing, image/feature/script hotlinking and thematic representation are perfect to trace and display historical data across space.

The Assertive Profile of the Bulgarian Students in Computer Science and Computer Engineering

Different points of view on the nature and content of the assertiveness are followed in this paper. The main purpose is to study the assertive profile of Bulgarian students in computer science and computer engineering by analyzing the components of assertiveness. Research was performed using testing methods. It was found that the level of expressivity of this personal quality among subjects were above-average level.

The Attendance Management System Based on Micro-cellular and GIS technology

This paper puts forward the composition of geospatial information and its definition. The author designed and implemented the attendance management system based on Micro-cellular and the geographic information system(GIS) technology. The function of the geographic information system(GIS) was achieved by transforming Japan Geographical Survey Institute's Digital Map 2,500 base plate data into G-XML data. The function of location information system was accomplished according to micro-cellular mobile terminal-in the GIS's Real-time positioning and tracks. At last, the attendance management system based on micro-cellular and GIS technology was implemented by comparing the work schedule with the mobile tracks of its related mobile handheld terminals.

This paper proposes multiple optimal combinations of renewable and nonrenewable energy systems for Nilphamari, Bangladesh. The Nilphamari relies mainly on on-grid electricity system. Therefore, the optimal combination of hybrid energy systems related to renewable and nonrenewable options is proposed to mitigate grid dependency. This hybrid energy system generates electricity for the consumption loads of the project area in which the natural resource potentials like solar, wind, hydro, and diesel are available. All power sources and resources data are included in the Homer software carefully. Finally, the Homer software is applied for viable techno-economic investigations especially cost of energy (COE) and net present cost (NPC) for the proposed hybrid system in Nilphamari, Bangladesh. The optimization result indicates that $0.224/kWh is the minimal COE. The proposed system has an operating cost of $16,156.16, a COE of $0.241/kWh, an NPC of $2,961,790.00, and a CO2 output of 3,373 kg per year. The proposed system's legitimacy, as determined by the LCOE and the NPC, was confirmed by optimization analysis. Within a few years of the project's lifetime, the system is estimated to pay for itself completely. The evaluations yielded the best system configurations, hybrid system costs, fuel savings, and CO2 emission reductions.

The Cell Cycle Model: A Comprehensive Review and Extension Based on Machine Learning

The cell cycle is a conserved process comprising of an organized series of interdependent and cross regulatory events that lead to controlled cell growth and proliferation. Genomic and volume regulatory processes are of special interest as they decide the fate of cell cycle. Signaling cascades including MAPK, PI3K, Sonic Hedgehog, Wnt and NOTCH signaling pathways are few well known conventional players contributing in controlling the cell cycle progression through different phases by expressing certain proteins. Moreover, the unconventional volume regulatory players exert influence by regulating membrane potential that is determined by ions influx or efflux across the plasma membrane via ion channels, controlling water movement and ultimately contributing to volume increase in growth phases of the cell cycle. Both of these players are interlinked, therefore, in order to establish a better understanding of the interdependence of these players, principles of machine learning were applied on data obtained on cell cycle. The data was processed by using neural networks and it shows that a significant understanding of conventional regulators is available in the literature and it has been under the limelight as well. However, when it comes to unconventional volume regulatory players, a limited understanding is available. Moreover, the precise role of each component and its interdependence with other is not yet fully understood. Due to which, they are not clearly evaluated for their potential role as cell cycle control elements for therapeutic purposes. Therefore, this study aims to summarize the data on cell cycle that is obtained through machine learning and to discuss the advances in cell cycle modelling mechanisms and designs that are based on different mathematical algorithms. Thus, this review will provide a basis to clearly understand and interlink the discoveries on cell cycle so that a comprehensive cell cycle model could be built which, if manipulated can be used for therapeutic purposes by identifying the least explored regulatory control elements.

The Design and Analysis of TSP Problem Based on Genetic Algorithm and Ant Colony Algorithm

This paper firstly makes a brief introduction about TSP problem, Genetic Algorithm and Ant Colony Algorithm, then gives the basic principles and steps of the two kinds of algorithms in solving the TSP problem, does design analysis and experiments of the two kinds of algorithms for solving TSP problem, and draws some useful conclusions: under the experimental conditions, while the population during 5 to 15, the Ant Colony Algorithm for TSP problem is more effective; when the population is 1~2.5 times than cities, it can get better results by using Genetic Algorithm for solving TSP.

The Digital Literacy in Teachers of the Schools of Rajouri (J&K)-India: Teachers Perspective

The present age is the age of information. The globalization has affected every sphere of the life including education. In spite of availability of ICT infrastructure in schools, their potential is underutilized because of digital incompetence of the teachers. New digital technologies are acting as a catalyst towards improvement of learning outcome and enhancing quality of education, but only introduction of such technologies in schools for producing change and innovation is not enough, it requires digitally competent teachers to facilitate the use of ICT in education. These teachers will act as facilitators and mentors to students to lead them towards problem solving and innovation to meet the new challenges of globalization. Teachers must be able to create learning environments which are student centric and foster creativity, Meta cognition, meta-literacy, collaboration and communication in learners. Mere superficial use of ICT in teaching will not yield the required learning outcome, but the integration of ICT in pedagogy is important to enhance teaching, learning process. This can be done only when teachers are competent enough to use ICT tools and facilitate ICT integrated education. In this paper, we tried to assess the teacher’s perspective about the ICT and investigate the factors responsible for resistance of teachers in using ICT in schools and suggestive measures for successful integration of ICT in the teaching process by the teachers of Rajouri district (J&K, India). The ICT skills are very important for teachers to support alternative modes of teaching, learning, i.e. e-learning, mobile learning in the present outbreak of pandemic disease caused by Coronavirus-COVID19.

The Effect of Two Computer Simulations on Learning Quantum Measurement Concepts

The majority of undergraduate students finddifficulty to understand the concept of postulates of quantum mechanics, precisely the postulates of measurement, reduction and evolution. Here, we include In this context we propose a pedagogical innovation technique based on the integration of two simulation projects of Quvis and Quilts. Then, we assess the student's understanding capacity. Here, Our results demonstrate , that the explanation of the postulates of quantum mechanics by manipulating the two simulations by the experimental group , For evaluated our pedagogical innovation , a pre-test and a post-test were administered for two experimental and control groups; the pre-test is composed of 19 multiple choice questions, and the post-test is composed of 12 questions for two groups, one using the simulations during quantum mechanics lectures and the other group learned the course of quantum mechanics without using simulations. A statistical analysis of the results showed that the distribution of pre-test results of the experimental group wasn't normal. In contrast, the distribution of the results of the control group was normal, so the Mann-Whitney U Test analysis showed that there is no difference between the results of the two groups in the pre-test, which shows the homogeneity of the two groups. The distribution of the post-test results of the two groups is normal, so the T-test analysis showed that there is a difference between the results of the two groups, with the average of results of the control group is 7.4, and of the experimental group is 11.4, the comparison of the pre-test and post-test results of the experimental group shows that there is a significant increase in the students' results after the integration of two simulations. The analysis of the results of the quiz showed that there was a significant improvement in understanding of the concepts of measurement and evolution in the group that benefited from the use of the simulations.

Teaching at the Right Level (henceforth, TaRL) is a new trending remedial educational approach being piloted in many countries. It basically matches pedagogical content to pupils’ educational needs through various adapted activities after segmentation of pupils’ depending on their actual difficulties and needs. In this respect, Morocco has been piloting this relatively new approach during the beginning of the school year 2022-23. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the effectiveness of the TaRL approach on Moroccan pupils’ mathematics, Arabic, and French reading competencies. An experimental study took place involving 106 pupils from 4th grade to 6th grade during a one-month remedial course (half an hour per day, one subject per day) based on TaRL guidelines. After carefully examining the data through the Wilcoxon Signed Ranks Test by comparing the baseline and endline results in all three subjects. The results showed statistically high improvements with large effect sizes in the levels of the three subjects suggesting that TaRL was effective in raising the levels of numeracy and literacy and may be, safely, further adopted throughout Moroccan primary schools.

The Fault Diagnosis Research of Gearbox Based on Hilbert-Huang Transform

The signal processing based on Hilbert-Huang transform is very suitable for nonlinear and non stationary process; it can extract gear fault features effectively. In this paper we aim at the engineering need of gearbox real-time monitoring and fault diagnosis, expanding a study of JZQ250 Gear Box. We use Hilbert-Huang transform to measure gear vibration signal processing, and use the obtained instantaneous frequency Hilbert marginal spectrum as the fault feature of the gearbox fault diagnosis. Tests showed that, the marginal spectrum based on Hilbert-Huang transform can get the characteristics of fault signal frequency of the gearbox, thus it can identify the type of gearbox fault effectively and achieve early fault prediction. The characteristics of instantaneous frequency can describe the corresponding fault type better. It has a good prospect in the field of gearbox fault diagnosis.

The novel coronavirus (COVID-19) has affected every sector of human activities. The outbreak has not only resulted in the risk of death from infection but has greatly affected the education system globally. While universities around the world have adapted to academic changes because of this pandemic, some other universities such as in Nigeria seem to be far behind. Therefore, this study aims to understand the impact of COVID-19 on students in higher institutions in Nigeria. The study utilizes an interactive survey design to get responses from 1533 respondents who are students of tertiary institutions. Two sampling techniques, namely snow-balling and purposive, are used to administer the questionnaire. The participants are representative samples from across the 6 geo-political zones of Nigeria. The results from the descriptive analysis reveals that 11.6% of the respondents have been able to continue school online and 41.4% have a level of doubt about the ability of their school can adapt to the learning mode occurring globally. Inferential analysis was carried out to understand the association and regression between variables. Results from Chi-Square Test of association show that students from public universities are economically more affected than those from private universities (P-value < .005). The ordinal logistic model considered multiple independent variables. Results from the logistic model showed that the future effect of COVID-19 on career/academic progression of students hold, irrespective of discipline or degree of study or university category or level/year of study. Furthermore, 30% of the students, regardless of their discipline, degree of study, or university category expressed extreme or moderate hopelessness about their academic future concerning the pandemic. The study has shown that the pandemic did not only lead to physical, technological, and economical challenges to education for Nigerian students, but also psychosocial challenges (such as hopelessness and high level of distrust for the existing educational systems) that may affect the way student engage and commit to their education in the post-pandemic world. This provides educational stakeholders including policy makers the adequate data needed to understand how exactly students have been affected and supportive measure to implement as tertiary institutions reopen for learning.
