Scientific and practical basis of teaching English in rural schools

Today, an important prerequisite for a successful career and active social interaction is the mastery of a foreign language. Especially for rural students who have their own views on the world around them, on communication with each other and with the teacher, teaching English presupposes motivation to learn. The article is an analysis and summary of the problems of foreign language teaching in rural areas. The author points out that a rural school is not only an institution of general education, but also a source of the well-being of the country, of stability, of the basic development of the society and of the spirituality of the people.

This research paper presents clinical and clinical-functional examination and treatment data of 250 children with congenital vascular malformations (haemangiomas), aged less than 5 years, from 2018 to 2023. It is worth noting that Of the total number of patients with congenital haemangiomas, boys were 75 (40%) and girls were 1.5 times more - 175 (60%). Obviously, most of the patients with congenital haemangiomas were children under 3 years of age. A part of patients with haemangiomas (14 people - 22.4%) before admission to the clinic received preliminary treatment including X-ray therapy, hormone therapy and surgical treatment, which turned out to be ineffective. The size of vascular masses varied from small to large in area and different in shape. Most of the masses had a regular rounded shape. A smaller part of the sample (6%) were large defects up to 6 cm2 and a larger part were defects up to 1 cm2 (64%). Among the observed patients, non-resident patients (41-65%) predominated, who mostly had defects up to 3 cm2 (30%), 38.4% had combined lesions of several anatomical areas. In 24 patients (38.4%) there was a combined lesion of several different anatomical areas, which significantly complicated the treatment, but was not a contraindication to its performance. This study shows practical experience based on the use of alternative modern methods of treatment, which is extremely relevant in a situation where the number of patients with this malformation is increasing every year, especially among children. The aim of the study is to acquaint the general public of scientists to the study of this issue, as well as to familiarise with our practical experience, which, as we believe, makes a certain contribution to the development of medical sciences, namely in the treatment of hemangiomas.

Selection of a method for monitoring and assessing the company’s personnel loyalty

This article is a brief theoretical review of the main techniques for monitoring the loyalty of the company's personnel. Realising the elements of internal marketing, modern companies face the problem of monitoring personnel loyalty. The scientific discourse has developed various quantitative and qualitative methods to identify this phenomenon. The article overlooks expensive research methods such as creating focus groups, conducting in-depth interviews, modelling conflicts, and others. Application of this or that questionnaire requires refinement from the personnel service of each organisation, taking into account the specifics of its functioning.

Semantic characteristics of motion verbs in English

The units of this lexico-semantic group have a high frequency of use and a developed system of collocates, which leads to semantic modification of the verb of motion. The study identified the verb of motion with the most developed combinability and revealed its main semantic tones.

Significance of effective communication in healthcare and its implications for EMP syllabus design

It seems that unprecedented attention is devoted to communication skills training in medical education nowadays. It has become one of the central components of undergraduate medical curricula as well as the focus of a range of medical communication skills courses outside the curriculum. Notably, the development of medical communication skills is also becoming one of the core elements of English for Medical Purposes (EMP) syllabuses today. The aim of this paper is to present a discussion of health communication, its significance in medical care and its relevance in the context of EMP training. It attempts to determine why effective communication skills are necessary in the practice of healthcare nowadays and why medical communication should be included in the medical English syllabus.

Some aspects of teaching speaking and listening skills in bilingual situation

A foreign language as a means of communication, cognition, a way of receiving and storing information predetermines the need to own all types of speech activity. In the context of the integration of Azerbaijani universities into the European space, knowledge and knowledge of English, especially the development of speaking skills, is of paramount importance. One of the problems of fluency in English is the lack of an appropriate language environment. To overcome difficulties in this area, it becomes necessary to apply a certain strategy that promotes productive mastering of oral communication skills. For this purpose, the use of such techniques as leading questions, pictures, entering unfamiliar vocabulary, listening to CDs for textbooks, watching movies with subtitles seems appropriate. Based on the existing difficulties in mastering a foreign language, the article describes the approaches to two types of speech activity, namely, speaking and listening, and indicates the ways and means of developing skills in a bilingual audience.

Stages of development of thinking in elementary school

The article presents a study devoted to studying the nature of the transition of primary schoolchildren from solving problems based on empirical thinking to solving problems based on theoretical thinking. Pupils of the first, second and third grades of two contingents participated in the group experiments: students studying under experimental programs developed by D.B. Elkonin and V.V. Davydov, 166 children, and according to regular primary school programs, 165 children. All students solved spatial-combinatorial problems of the author’s “Game in 3” methodology in a visual-figurative manner. It has been shown that the largest increase in the number of children solving problems based on theoretical thinking is associated with learning in the second grade. At the same time, it was found that training in experimental programs creates conditions for children to more intensively master theoretical thinking. In the future, it is planned to characterize the features of problem solving based on theoretical thinking among fourth-graders.

Steel and basalt fiber comparison in the flexural strength of conventional concrete

Plain conventional concrete structural elements are known for their brittleness. This brittleness causes the weakness and failure suffered by these elements. The plain concrete normally contains numerous micro cracksand under sustained loading conditions, it fails in tension. To solve these problems, this paper investigated the effect of dispersed chopped steel and basalt fiber in conventional concrete rectangular prisms. The main objective of this research paper was to determine the flexural strength of basalt fiber and steel fiber reinforced concrete specimens for different fiber dosages and compare the flexural strengths of the two types of fiber reinforced concrete with those of control (plain) concrete. The fiber dosages chosen for the study were 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% of total volume of concrete. Four sets of concrete mixtures were used of which each set produced 9 rectangular prisms which were tested for flexure on day 7, day 14 and day 28 per 3 rectangular prisms. The experimental results showed that addition of chopped fiber increased the flexural strength of the concrete prism. 1.5% fiber gave the best flexural strength in both basalt fiber reinforced concrete and steel fiber reinforced concrete. Basalt fiber reinforced concrete showed more plasticity with lesser cracks than steel fiber reinforced concrete.

The article examines the positive aspects of cooperation among countries of the Eurasian Economic Union. Statistical data and macroeconomic indicators are provided to demonstrate the benefits of the Eurasian Economic Union and emphasize the effective interaction among countries both within the union and with external partners. The article shows the stable development and resilience of Russia's trade with other countries despite the sanctions pressure and different attempts by some countries to isolate Russia on the international stage.
