The description of linguistic components of the discourse

The analysis of theoretical and practical material describes explicit macrostructures as the components of linguistic meanings of the discourse. Consequently, the explicit macroproposition of discourse, we mean a statement that is the result of a cognitive-semantic operation. The appeal to explicit macropropositions, organized by the author's efforts into explicit macrostructures, provides a relatively rare opportunity to trace how semantic, pragmatic and referential basses are realized into macrostructures of discourse. When working with explicit macrostructures, we get the opportunity to operate not with hypothetical cognitive-semantic units, but with explicit units clothed in syntactic structures. The material of research was the text of the English writer Jerome K. Jerome "Three Men in a Boat: To Say Nothing of the Dog!" This story includes the sequences of explicit macro-propositions, combined into macrostructures in each chapters of the text.

The effectiveness of the 5E lesson plan model in teaching English as a foreign language

This study examines the effectiveness of the 5E Lesson Plan Model (Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Evaluate) in teaching English as a foreign language. Based on theoretical analysis and practical examples, the study demonstrates how each stage of the model contributes to active learner engagement, the development of communicative competence, and learner autonomy. The 5E framework is shown to combine structure with flexibility, making it applicable to modern EFL classrooms. The study also discusses the integration of the model with constructivist principles and outlines directions for future empirical research.

The image of Russia through the eyes of German exchange students

This article analyzes the sources of the formation of a certain image (stereotype) about Russia by students from Germany. Process of adaptation of exchange students influence their involvement in educational procedures and social communication. The effectiveness of adaptation of students and their expectation compared to real situation affect their perceptions of the country they visit. Based on the Actor-Network Theory, an analysis of conceptualized representations of foreign students was carried out before and after arriving in Russia.

The paper concerns the importance of obtaining professional English for the practice of a doctor, especially an infectious disease specialist. The language barrier is an obstacle that must be overcome through working English. Knowing professional medical English allows presenting the results of scientific research to the international medical community in the form of an article or report. The aim of our study was to prove that English is the leading language in the field of infectious diseases and the current coverage of COVID 19. In the course of the study, we analyzed the quantity of publications in English on several infectious diseases that are a global problem around the world. For the search, we used an international database PubMed with open access. In the course of our work, we have confirmed that the vast majority of medical articles on infectious diseases that are important for the whole world, such as malaria, typhoid fever and the new covid-19 coronavirus infection, are published in English. In this way, we have confirmed the role of English as the international language of science.

It also supports the cultivation of critical thinking, cultural sensitivity, and adaptive learning strategies. Moreover, the integration of modern digital resources and interactive methodologies enriches the educational experience, enabling students to become more autonomous in their professional growth. Overall, the incorporation of foreign language instruction into medical curricula has a multidimensional impact: it enhances clinical performance, promotes research excellence, and bolsters the pedagogical environment, ultimately elevating the quality of healthcare delivery in an increasingly interconnected world.

In addition to mentioning the transit routes of the historical Silk Road, the importance of the modern Silk Road project is emphasized here. The article explains the importance of strengthening economic relations and communication lines between countries, peoples, and different regions. Taking into account the importance of the Silk Road in the development of the world, within the framework of the new "One Belt, One Road" concept, China's large investment in international trade communications, infrastructure, innovative development of regions, and the creation of new sea ports and land routes should be noted. Also mentioned in an article on China's digital Silk Road project. Now is the era of global communications in the world, and foreign policies of countries should be based on it. On the other hand, the importance of China's Maritime Silk Road project was mentioned in the article.

This study examines the linguistic and discursive strategies employed by French media and portray the identities of second-generation immigrants, often referred to as “children of immigrants”, through a sociolinguistic and critical discourse analysis framework. The research investigates how the media’s lexical choices, syntactic patterns, and metaphorical framing shape public understanding of national belonging, citizenship, and “otherness.” A qualitative analysis approach with data from French press corpora (Le Monde, Le Figaro, Libération, and BFMTV) uncovers a systematic pattern: when immigrant descendants achieve excellence in sports or arts, their ethnic background is linguistically erased, while in coverage of crime or unrest, ethnicity and religion become hyper-visible. This duality, expressed through collocational tendencies such as jeunes de banlieue and issus de l’immigration, perpetuates a binary representation of “Frenchness” versus alterity. Analysis of frequent keywords in popular French journals confirms the asymmetrical attribution of “Frenchness,” with positive events coded as universal and negative events linguistically marked as ethnic or foreign. Drawing on Hall’s representation theory, Said’s orientalism, and van Dijik’s critical discourse analysis, this paper contends that these media narrative reinforces structural inequality through the politics of language. In conclusion, this shows that the discourse not only reflects social hierarchies but actively constructs them, influencing inter-group relations and shaping France’s ongoing struggle with its colonial past.

The language of preventive healthcare: coronavirus pandemic discourse

The paper discusses COVID-19 discourse in media texts of WHO official website published in March-April 2020. The objective of the research is to identify and analyze content, structural, pragmatic and linguistic features of media text with a particular focus on the communicative effect they might produce on the target audience. The authors conclude that WHO coverage of the pandemic is mainly associated with preventive strategies, which comprise a variety of macrostructural elements, pragmatic functions of information and persuasion, colloquial and topical vocabulary, imperative mood for advice and a wide usage of graphical means.

This article examines the binary opposition wealth vs. poverty in English and Kyrgyz from a linguocultural perspective. Lexical, idiomatic, and metaphorical means reflecting cultural concepts of material well-being and social status are analyzed. It is shown that English linguistic culture emphasizes individual achievement, economic mobility, and autonomy, whereas Kyrgyz culture highlights collective values, social responsibility, and harmony with nature. A comparative analysis is provided, including a summary table of dominant tendencies. The study concludes with observations on cultural similarities and differences and underscores the importance of the linguocultural approach for understanding intercultural communication and cognitive models.

Lack of education critically affects the hundreds of millions of children around the world who become adolescents without basic life skills. As a result, it is difficult for them not only to build a successful career or educate their children, but to even read the instructions of doctors, understand documents, make purchases and other daily operations. It is also not necessary that only high-income countries can demonstrate high levels of education. At present, countries with lower incomes are also showing positive results, are interested in improving the quality of education, and are developing new strategies. This research paper describes the main aspects of the crisis in education, followed by a winning strategy by which countries can overcome this crisis. The strategy is a movement in three directions: competent, fair and regular assessment of learning is an important first step; acting on this assessment while making education accessible to all children is the next major challenge; and, finally, the coordinated actions of all participants in the education system are important. This research paper provides vivid examples of education activity in countries with different income levels.

Today many countries earn most of their budget income from tourism sector. Tourism is not just only an income source but also a helper for strong international relations. Development of tourism strengthens the relations between nations, cultures and increases socio-economic business activities. The era of education and technology makes life much easier and increases the need for travelling. Tourism is a luxury good, it means very costly to attain. But today it becomes easier to get with the help of low budget tourism (the offer of low service prices by companies). Even, the countries that are poor for tourism sector, try to maintain artificial tourism in their territory. Developing tourism sector increases the number of travelers every year. The countries with rich nature, architecture, culture, history are more likely to attract many tourists. Azerbaijan is lucky among countries that it has many features for the development of tourism sector. Tourism has a huge impact on the development of countries’ economies as a complex. Increasing economic activities are supported by tourism service sector. Many such reasons make tourism sounds very attractive for the solutions of socio-economic problems. Increasing investments towards tourism sector benefits many countries’ economies. In Azerbaijan, tourism has also become one of the main service sectors. Generally tourism started to raise its importance in Azerbaijan after independency. This sector has been prioritized by the government and many programs have been made in order to develop tourism in Azerbaijan. As a result of all these things, the flow of both foreign and local investments has been put to Azerbaijan. Tourism sector is very important for Azerbaijan, because it will bring many positive outcomes, if the sector is controlled by right regulations and decisions. The advantages and disadvantages of tourism sector are criticized in the material. Tourism is considered one of the best ways of non oil sector and the development of service sector will benefit the economy of the country.

This article attempts to prove the illegality of putting forward as the main goal of teaching foreign languages exclusively the development of skills to communicate in a foreign language. This point of view is based on a broader understanding of the tasks of teaching foreign languages than just providing practical knowledge of foreign language communication. As a justification of this theory, important arguments related to the acquisition of knowledge about the language and through the language - the culture of the corresponding people are given. The focus solely on the assimilation of practical skills and abilities by students does not allow taking into account the diversity of possible motivations of students in mastering the subject. The emphasis is placed on the fact that not for all students, communicative motivation is the main component in mastering a foreign language. The practical significance of this article lies in the development of a number of competencies necessary to achieve the main goals of teaching foreign languages.

The neurowave method as a body-oriented approach in dealing with psychoemotional blocks

The article is devoted to the study of the practical effectiveness of the «Neurowave» method as a body-oriented approach to working with psycho-emotional blocks. The relevance of the research is determined by the need to find tools that allow working with the deep, non-verbalized consequences of chronic stress, childhood trauma and suppressed emotions, which are fixed in the body in the form of muscle clamps and dysfunctional patterns of the nervous system. Unlike analytical methods, the Neurowave method focuses on direct bodily experience as a way to access and transform these blocks. The purpose of the study was to describe the mechanisms and results of the practical application of the method. The main content of the work reveals the step-by-step procedural model of the «Neurowave»: the gentle introduction of the client into a state of deep relaxation and meditative consciousness, focusing on internal bodily sensations and the subsequent activation of spontaneous discharge processes through impulses and touches. The key principle is not intellectual analysis, but direct somatic living and releasing blocked tension. The results obtained, based on practical experience, indicate that the Neurovolna method promotes deep relaxation of the nervous system, somatic response to suppressed emotions, and restoration of natural sensitivity and body integrity. It is concluded that this approach is an effective tool for working with those layers of psychotraumatic experience that are inaccessible to verbal psychotherapy, since the transformation occurs at the level of direct bodily experience, bypassing cognitive interpretations.
