Intermittent fasting and interval hypoxic training for activation of adaptive reserves of the body, prevention and treatment of degenerative brain diseases

Intermittent fasting and interval hypoxic training for activation of adaptive reserves of the body, prevention and treatment of degenerative brain diseases

Voronina T.N.

Статья

Degenerative brain diseases (DBD) and other cognitive dysfunctions may appear due to the depletion of adaptive reserves as a result of aging, stress, depression, and other pathological processes (inflammation, malignant neoplasms). The depletion of the adaptive reserves leads to disordering accurate, appropriate signaling in the brain, between the brain and the body, as well as disorders at the levels of the organs, cells and molecules. The body's adaptive reserves ultimately determine the tolerability or the resistance to various degrees of hypoxia, which accompanies stress, trauma, depression, inflammation, and aging. Oxygen is the most important and fastest regulator of metabolism. The fundamental concept is as follows: optimal health is activated and stimulated by intermittent stimulation, i.e. moderate functional loads [1, 2]. We offer practical programs, which combine two non-pharmacological natural methods of activation therapy, training aimed at improving the adaptive reserve of the human body: intermittent fasting treatment (IFT) and interval hypoxic training (IHT).

For centuries, the scientific community has been aware of the cellular importance of oxygen, which converts food into energy and is transported to the tissues by red blood cells. It is known that oxygen gives life and life energy and takes them away.Training with intermittent hypoxia, interval hypoxic training (IHT) is one of the most promising additional non-drug therapies that activate the natural defences of the human body and provide the body with a high degree of adaptation.

Отчет

This article considers possibilities of achieving the most effective therapeutic effect of intermittent hypoxia training (IHT) by initiating an activation and training reaction. Thanks to IHT the body builds an anti-stress type adaptation which increases the body's nonspecific resistance to the development of diseases. It works through a variable functional load which includes a mechanism for optimizing mitochondrial respiration and is a trigger for synchronizing the performance of the nervous, immune and hormonal systems. Some biochemical data presented in the article demonstrate the effects of moderate hypoxia. In addition, laboratory and hardware methods of diagnosing for the selection of individual IHT regimes are proposed. IHT is used to great effect in training of astronauts, pilots, athletes and in the treatment of diabetes mellitus, trophic ulcers, diseases of the cardiovascular system, the central nervous system and oncological disorders as well as for rejuvenation purposes.

Статья научная

The purpose of this research is to understand the changes in internship dynamics of MBA students in 2020 who undertook virtual full-time internships as compared to previous years when interns were required to be present physically. Sample was collected from two set of interns; one set interns were working through virtual internship and the second set were working on traditional model of on- site internship. For data collection, structured questionnaire was used. Data was collected on various parameters of internship processes and experience. The result from the current findings suggests that the experience of both set of interns differ significantly. This paper will essentially evaluate whether virtual full-time internships have been able to contribute, create & shape internship experience effectively for interns & understand which dimensions such as learning, productivity, communication, etc have seen changes due to the nature of work being changed. Research material in this area is limited, mainly due to students experiencing a remote working style in their internships for the first time which is why this research will be quite valuable for various stakeholders.

Aims The interrelation between hemodynamic changes, functions of the cardiovascular system and biochemical reactions in the cells of the heart muscle is investigated in the present paper. Materials and Several methods were used to influence the metabolism processes in the methods myocardium. The changes in the phase functions of contraction of different cardiac muscles were recorded. In order to have comprehensive influence on the metabolism processes, normalization of the acid-base balance was performed. L-carnitine and octolipen were used to affect the lipid metabolism. Results Phase blood volumes that are characteristic of hemodynamics changed in the course of treatment to reach their nornal values. The ECG shape during the heart cycle phases also changed to reach the norm. The initial ECG shape describing Brugada syndrome almost reached its normal value. Extrasystole disappeared therewith. Conclusion The method of the heart cycle phase analysis enables monitoring any changes in hemodynamics and functions of the cardiovascular system. The method can be used for identifying the original cause of pathologies and efficient monitoring of the treatment progress.

Статья научная

Aims. The aim hereof is to identify changes in the performance of the CNS neurons under the prolonged action of low-threshold pain factor according to indicators of the membrane potential level, parameters of the action potential and the pattern of the firing activity distribution of the neurons. Materials and methods. As a model, functionally active neurons of the central nervous system in the grape snail Helix pomatia were selected as an integral part of the organism in vivo. Used has been the author’s original electrophysiological method of continuous recording of intracellular biopotentials of animal neurons both under the background conditions and by applying a long-term low-threshold action (LTA) to the main nerves due to a graded pressure to produce a pain effect of the subthreshold level that over time turns into increasing pain. Results. For the first time in world science, objective evidence for the long-term low-intensity action of pain on the electrophysiological characteristics in a CNS neuron has been obtained. Revealed are the changes in the amplitude and the action potential firing rate, the membrane potential level and the pattern of the neuron pulse activity, traced continuously, up to full neuron potential turning-off. It has been detected that, when removing the pain factor, there are some points of return to the norm available, and, in case of longevity of the pain action, the functional state of the neuron passes the point of no return, after which the neuron electrophysiological potentials reach zero value, indicating the cessation of its life. Conclusions. The dynamics of the neuron functional state in vivo, under prolonged action of the pain factor, reflects nonlinear changes in the membrane potential, firing rate and amplitude of AP. This characterizes the phase process of forming a pathologically stable pain state of the neuron, despite the readiness of the membrane mechanisms at the transition points to a response aimed at returning to life. The evidence obtained in our experiments provides more insight into the mechanisms of chronic neurogenic pain in experimental and clinical medicine, as well as the diagnostics of the brain death.

Issues of health evaluation during simulated space mission to Mars. Part 1. Research methodology and methods used in experiment MARS-500

Baevsky Roman M., Bersenev Evgenie Y., Chernikova Anna G.

Отчет

Research methodology and methods used in experiment Mars-500 held at the Institute of Biomedical Problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2009-2011 are considered. 6 volunteers were isolated during 520 days in a sealed ground-based facility simulating space ship. Along with studies of the Martian crew, a number of satellite research were also carried out, which were devoted to the long-term program of medical and ecological investigations. This program was aimed at the study of the dynamics of adaptation abilities of the organism during its long stay in the natural social, living and industrial environments. For physiological investigations in experiment Mars-500, including the main experiment in a sealed ground-based facility and parallel long-term medical and ecological investigations in different regions of the world, the specialized hardwaresoftware complex "Ecosan-2007" was used. The methodology was based on the principles of prenosological diagnostics that have been further developed in the concept of adaptation risks and in the probabilistic approach to their evaluation. For evaluation of various components of the autonomous regulation state the method of heart rate variability (HRV) was used. It was concluded that the most important field in experiment Mars-500 was the investigation of the methodology of prenosological diagnostic in the preparation of a space mission to Mars.

Отчет

In order to evaluate the vegetative regulation of blood circulation and assess individual health risks under conditions of the 520 day isolation, used was an analysis of the heart rate variability (HRV). The most significant changes in the HRV values against the background data were reported in the second half of the said experiment. At that time, the heart rate (HR) values showed some reductions, the standard deviation of normal-to-normal beats (SDNN) was increased, and the simultaneous activation of all regulation members (pNN50 – parasympathetic regulation, IC and VLF – the sympathetic and neurohumoral regulation) occurred. The period of “the Mars orbiting”, the time of the crew dividing and “the landing to Mars” featured the highest level of the tension of the regulatory systems and the significant increase in the health risks. An assessment of the functional state of the organism and the adaptation level according to the degree of the tension (DT) of the regulatory systems and their functional reserve (FR) made it possible not only to confirm the presence of the changes identified by the commonly used HRV, but to make them more apparent as well...

The paper presents the results of the long-term medical & ecological investigations conducted during the experiment Mars-500. Methodology of conducting the long-term medical & ecological investigations and the applied methods are considered. The results are presented in the materials of the research conducted in Russian Federation and Republic of Belarus (Moscow, Syktyvkar, Yekaterinburg, Izhevsk, Magadan and Minsk). For comparative evaluation of the functional state of different reference groups the notion of “ecological stress” was introduced. It depends upon the degree of dominance of the activity of the sympathetic member of the regulatory system over the parasympathetic member. Application of probabilistic approach to the assessment of the functional state and adaptation level with the FR (functional reserve) and the DT (the degree of tension) of the regulatory mechanisms proved the detected peculiarities of the heart rhythm vegetative regulation. Clear dependency of the functional state of the volunteers on geographic location of regions and climatic parameters is observed...

KIM-1 is a marker of nephrotoxicity in patients receiving cisplatin-containing chemotherapy

Alentov I.I., Karmakova T.A., Savchina V.V., Dyoshkina T.I., Marshutina N.V.

Статья

Drug-induced nephrotoxicity is a common side effect in chemotherapy treatment for cancer patients. Every year the relevance of this problem increases due to the widespread use of various chemotherapy (CT) protocols, including nephrotoxic drugs, in particular cisplatin. Standard measures of kidney function include glomerular filtration rate (GFR), serum creatinine (sCr) and blood urea nitrogen concentrations. However, their changes are revealed after a rather long period after nephrotoxic exposure only; in addition, they deviate significantly from the norm only with a significant degree of kidney damage. Therefore, the search for new markers of nephrotoxicity for early and reliable diagnostics of renal dysfunction is an extremely urgent task. One such promising marker is KIM-1.

Chandel N., Sharma P.

Статья научная

Purpose: The paper aims to focus on the question “How can we leverage learning interventions for talent development?” The rise in the need for learning and development for employees has become a priority and a primary reason for job dissatisfaction. Learning and development initiatives are believed to build the required through training campaigns, competencies, and exposure to critical experiences where employees across different bands and streams can be nudged to attend training, enhance their skills, and increase engagement. For an organization to have a learning culture, the most important thing is employee awareness concerning their learning and how their learning is benefiting the business and aligning the individual’s needs to organizational goals. It is usually found that because of time constraints and other factors, employees do not pay much attention to up skill themselves, which calls for a systematic framework to nudge them for inculcating a learning environment. Design/Methodology/Approach - An explorative, qualitative study based on focus groups designed. Findings: Due to time constraints and other factors, employees do not pay much attention to up skill themselves, which calls for a systematic framework to nudge them for inculcating the learning environment. Limitations: Based on the findings, few priority aspects may be crucial to the learning environment. Originality/Value: This paper serves the purpose of explaining the necessity of learning intervention techniques for talent development.
